Breast Feeding – Things To Keep In Mind

Studies have shown that lots of mothers complain about tender nipples which are responsible in making breast feeding a painful and frustrating experience.

The good new is that most of them don't suffer this problem for that long. The nipples tends to toughen up quickly and makes the experience of breast feeding virtually painless. Those infants who suck really hard can make the breasts extremely sore. So, follow these guidelines:

1. Make sure your baby is positioned correctly. Lots of babies who are not positioned in a correct manner, act as the number one reason of causing sore nipples.

2. After the feeding is done, expose your breasts to the air and try to protect them from itching clothes as well as other irritations.

3. After breast feeding, you must apply medical grade lanolin. Don't apply petroleum jelly or any other product that has oil.

4. Make sure to wash your breast with pure water. Don't apply soap.

5. You can also place teabags hat were kept under cold water in order to offer some relief when placed on the nipples.
