Since the olden days, medication has been a source of achieving wellness, peace, and balance through the mind body and spirit. There are many ways for a person to learn medication CD instruction, at a meditation center or ashram, or created spontaneously at home. Simply learning the medication techniques will not help much because all of methods are trying to achieve the same goal - higher states of consciousness and awareness of the self.

Here are some of the commonly practiced medication methods in today's society:

Sitting – In this medication technique, you need to sit in one spot without moving. The environment has to be completely peaceful with soft background music. It can be done either outside or inside. You can perform this medication while sitting on a chair, cushion, on the ground or other comfortable cross-legged position.

Transcendental – This form of medication has been practiced for centuries by Hindus, Buddhists, and hippies alike. The main goal of this medication form is to reach a state of euphoria with the use of sounds, mantras, and visuals that heightened the energies and the senses of the practitioner.

Guided
– In this method the entire body is relaxed in a comfortable position while listening to a teacher and/or audio CDs, or tapes who guides you through each level of the meditation. This method will offer not only visualization, but also affirmations, and other positive feedback that can alter ones subconscious and conscious mindset. It is usually used for enhancing self-esteem and increasing other emotional work.

Yoga – Most people assume that yoga is an exercise which involve only exercises to stretch and strengthen the body as well as to achieve mind & body balance. However, the statement isn't completely true. The main aim of yoga is to learn how to remain calm as well as peace as it corresponds to your flexibility. This method also teaches you how your mind can transcend not only the discomfort you may feel when performing various stretches but also in daily life.

Mantra and Chanting – Under this medication techniques use of a phrase, word, or a prayer learned. These words that come from any religious belief system are extremely spiritual, powerful, and meaningful especially when spoken out loud or in the mind. At times, they can be sung as well. The vibrations derived from these words sooth and calm down our mind and bodies.
