In the past few years, reverse osmosis systems are becoming more popular especially for filtering water in home use. Many people are worried about the safety of their drinking water. To overcome this fear the reverse osmosis system was developed. Studies show that this system can purify 99% of your drinking water.

The basic methodology behind this system is the usage of pressurized water which is forced or pushed through a semi permeable membrane. When the water flows through the membrane it is filtered and removes the contaminant from the original sample water.

However, if the water contains multiple contaminants then the reverse osmosis membrane does not work properly. The membrane will either remove one or some of the contaminants in the water at a lower level.

This type of membrane also has an efficiency issue. As per the reports, this membrane can either have an efficiency of 5% or 15%. Now, you may be wondering if the efficiency of this type of membrane is only 5% - 15% then why should we buy this product. The simple answer is it makes no sense to buy.

You must note that the reverse osmosis membrane is a small part of a bigger system. There is typically a huge storage tank that is located underneath your sink. The filtered water is mainly stored in this tank until it is needed to be delivered to the faucet.

To keep this system working at its maximum level you need to maintain this systems regularly. If you do not properly maintain the system then the unit will become less effective. For example, if your system have a efficiency of 15% this can drop to zero quickly if you don't maintain it well.

In simple words, reverse osmosis membrane is not the perfect choice for filtering water for you and your family. So the next time you go for shopping of a water filter look for the highest quality and best value for our money. The system should also be easily installed and require minimal maintenance to keep it working as intended. If the system comes along with a warranty then the offer is simply fabulous.
