In order to maintain your overall health, you must take care of cardiovascular health. The cardiovascular system transports oxygen to different tissues, removes wastes from body. It include blood, blood vessels, nutrients and heart.
It is the blood that carries oxygen and all the nutrients to living cells within the body, and take the waste to the system from where they are eliminated from body. The blood is made up of plasma, a water protein solution. It also has red and while cells, as well as other solid components called platelets.
Red blood cells carry oxygen to capillaries. The nutrients and oxygen for cell waste products is exchanged in the capillaries, and the process is called diffusion. Blood pressure makes the blood flow through vessels from high pressure close to the heart to the low pressure area, that is away from heart. The rate at which heart pumps also decides the blood pressure.
The heart pumps the blood, makes it flow as well as
control the pressure with which it is pumping the blood. There are four chambers and four main vessels in the heart. Blood enters from right side and leaves from left. It travels through lungs, acquires oxygen and then goes to pulmonary veins, then come back to the left side of the heart.
The immune system of a body protects it from bacteria, toxins, and other things. If the body is working properly, none of these would get into it. The immune system is complex and is made of special tissues, cells, proteins and organs. Immune system attacks all the bad bacteria and viruses that can cause disease. White blood cells are also a part of the system. They search for antigens and destroy them. It is the spleen, thymus and bone marrow that produces as well as store white blood cells.
The cardiovascular system circulates blood, provides nutrients and eliminates water. The lymphatic systems picks the excess fluid, returns it to the blood stream. In order to have a great body, it is essential that both these systems should be in great shape.
