Many women are of the view that they can eat anything they want to have during breast feeding. Even though this statement is correct that there are certain kind of food varieties that can entirely change the taste of your milk. But one more statement is true that lots of infants enjoy the varieties of breast milk flavors.
It happens that your infant may get
cranky at the breast after you indulge yourself in a particular kind
of food. If you notice that this kind of thing is happening, then you
should simply avoid that particular food.
The most common food items that are responsible for offending the whole breast feeding experience include chocolate, spices, citrus fruits, garlic, chili, lime, gassy vegetables, and fruits with laxative type effects, such as prunes and cherries.
You can drink a cup of coffee in a day, but lots of caffeine can interfere with your baby's sleep and can make your infant feel cranky as well.
You must know that caffeine is found in
many soda's, tea, and even in those counter type medicines as well.
You may have an alcoholic beverage once, but having lots of drinks
can increase your blood alcohol level, putting the alcohol into your
breast milk.
But if you have made your mind that you will have
more than one drink at a time, then I would recommend that it's best
to wait for at least two hours or more per drink before you resume
breast feeding.
You don't need to pump and dump unless your breasts are full and its time to feed your baby. You should also avoid all kinds of strong drinks. It is better to ask your doctor, if you planning to remove or add any kind of food in your diet.
