While most of the affected individuals are within their teen years, there are still many adults who are also affected by this difficult illness. Out of all the eating disorders, bulimia and anorexia are considered to be the most common.

This problem also has a social, biological, behavioral, as well as psychological trigger.

Nowadays, yoga is considered to be one of the most effective ways to treat individuals with eating disorders. As we know, yoga helps in reducing depression and recreates a state of balance in the mind. It also promotes a positive self-worth and view of ones body. Therefore, yoga has a healing power, which can help a person overcome his/her eating disorder.

Yoga help in establishing a connection between the mind and body, which minimizes the negative effects on the illness. Studies show that anorexia have a debilitating effects on someone's body. In most cases, it lowers the energy level and creates a low bone density. The study also reveals that performing yoga regularly improves the overall fitness and increases the chances of beating any eating disorder.

Certain yoga poses like the crab, full wind, locust, pigeon, and staff help in strengthening the person who is ailing. Yoga poses are used to re-establish a strong mind and body connection, which help in overcoming any physical obstacles. In simple words, yoga minimizes the effect of anorexia and other eating disorders.
