Childhood obesity is one of the most alarming children health problem. This problem has been rising in a rapid pace in many countries of the world. In order to discourage obesity, it is our duty to teach our youngsters as how to exercise properly. In this regard, it is very important to let them engage in a good ab workout as early as their preschool years. Obesity is rising in recent time because of the fact that youngsters today are not balancing energy intake and energy expenditure. They have many choices of food, which are basically highly processed fast food. In addition, they are used to television, remote controls and computer/video games, which keep them apart from exercising on a daily basis.
A non-active lifestyle can solely be blamed for childhood obesity. Such a lifestyle encourages inactive behaviour, such as television-watching and computer/video gaming. These activities ultimately result in building up of abdominal fat. And for Abdominal fat
is the layer of fat that covers the inner organs that puffs out the stomach area.
Abdominal fat should be a major concern, since it enters the bloodstream and effects the liver, blood fats, blood pressure, as well as blood vessels in a negative way. An increase in the waistline causes an increase in the risk of heart disease. This fat also disables the body's insulin, thereby slowing sugar metabolism.
Proper exercise is the perfect way to discourage all these health risks. Exercise can melt away abdominal fat. Exercise can be in the form of walking, playing or running in the park. You can suggest your kids with anything that gets them moving. Parents can also encourage their kids for playing outdoors more and participating in organized sports rather than letting them stick to the television and computer all day. As far as school's role in discouraging childhood obesity is concerned, they can offer many interesting activities, such as dance, martial arts, team sports and hiking to inspire more student participation.
