As far as cosmetic surgery is concerned, face lifts, breast augmentation and tummy tucks are some of the common surgery procedures that we know. There is an another surgery that is gaining in popularity is eyebrow lift. This is mostly popular among the age group of 35-65. Eyebrow lifts can also be called as forehead lifts. Eyebrow lift involves the surgery of the lines across your forehead or the looseness of the skin on your forehead.
Procedure involves in Eyebrow Lift
An eyebrow lift can be performed in two ways. The 'open' approach involves continuous incision across the crown of the head at the hairline. Here, the surgeon maneuvers tissues and removes segments of muscles and skin that are responsible for wrinkles or deep frown lines.
Eyebrow lift is also performed endoscopically, with a scope through a small incision at the temples, within the hairline or in the upper eyelid creases. This process involves a few shorter incisions
in the scalp. After that a scope is placed into one of the incisions to view the tissues and muscles from a screen. An another device is also inserted in another incision to make the necessary alterations.
Endoscopic surgery is less intrusive as compared to traditional approach, where the scars are much smaller. The endoscopic approach is ideally best for the patients who don't have deep horizontal lines on forehead or a lot of loose skin on the forehead.
In eyebrow lift, patients are administered general anesthesia or local anesthesia with intravenous sedation. After the incisions are made, the surgeon moves the eyebrows to a more desirable position. Generally, after the surgery is done, patients are asked to wear a tight pressure dressing for the first few days. After a few days, the bruising and swelling go down and within a week, the changes in the eyebrows get noticed. However, it takes a few weeks to settle and then looks natural. On of the common problems that occurs after eyebrow lift is headache.
