- Carbohydrates contain carbon, oxygen and hydrogen.
- The bonds between the monomers in disaccharides and polysaccharides are the ones that are broken with the process called hydrolysis.
- Carbohydrates are important sources that act as a store house of chemical energy.
- There are chemical tests to inspect if they are in food.
- Carbohydrate monomers are called monosaccharides. For instance: glucose and fructose are the monomers of Carbohydrates.
- Two monomers are linked together with the help of a glycosidic bond in order to form a disaccharide.
