Barrier methods of birth is used in controlling the block sperm from entering the uterus. The best possible way that is coming out these days is to use a spermicide with a barrier method that provides you the best possible barrier method protection.

Male or female condoms are one of those effective and safe birth control methods that are used to have a fair amount of protection from sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), including infection with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).
So in order to have a firm protection from these infections of yourself and your partner, be sure to use a condom every time you have sex.
What To Expect After Treatment
Follow the directions for your choice of barrier method.
- The spermicide helps in killing most of the sperm that enter the vagina. But the fact is that sing spermicide alone is not recommended because it offers poor pregnancy .
- The barrier method then blocks any remaining sperm from passing through the cervix to fertilize an egg.

- A contraceptive sponge has to be left in for 6 or more hours, then removed and thrown away.(After sexual intercourse)
- A diaphragm or cervical cap has to be left in for 6 or more hours, then washed and stored for reuse.(After sexual intercourse)
- A Lea's Shield is left in for 8 or more hours, then washed. You can also store it for re-use. Bit I would recommend that don't re-use it more than once(After sexual intercourse)
